Ordinary Hymns

About

Why choose such an “ordinary” name for these hymns?

Acts 4:13 tells us about ordinary men that the Holy Spirit was working through to build his church. It was after two ordinary men, Peter and John, through the name of Jesus, healed a lame man at the temple in Acts 3, that the “rulers, elders, and experts in the law” asked them by what power or name they did this that they now only received their answer but noticed something very important.

Acts 4:13 (NET) says:

When they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and discovered that they were uneducated and ordinary men, they were amazed and recognized these men had been with Jesus.

These hymns are for fellow ordinary men and women who belong to Jesus. A very ordinary man is writing, recording, and producing these hymns in his ordinary shop with a space heater and window unit air conditioner. With each hymn you’ll find a story of how and why it was written.

My hope for this resource is for ordinary Christians to sing and be edified through these hymns, and that they would be reminded of biblical truths that their hearts and minds can cling to.

All glory to Jesus Christ.
